Melta 21st International Conference: Creative Teacher Showcase

I was one of the presenter for the Creative Teacher Showcase. The title of my presentation was Enfagrow.

INTRODUCTION
Enfagrow Programme has been carried out since 2010 and continues till now, 2012. Enfagrow stands for English is Fun with Activities, Gaining Attention and Reaching Out Warmly. It is a REACHING OUT programme to produce quality. It is sort of a weekend and holiday programme that focuses on the skills learnt, and at the same time motivates my students. It is outside the conventional classroom activities.  Surprisingly, my Form Three students love the name of the programme even though they find the name sound like milk product.

OBJECTIVES
1. To create the awareness among the students that in their lives they need to have goals/purposes.
2. To accomplish these goal(s), they have to be creative. They should also realise that each one of them is unique in his or her own way.

3. To enable the students to carry out a variety of language functions and taking part in social interaction by discussing plans and arrangements, and also solving
problems.
4. To inculcate values, respect, mutual understanding and   responsibility.
5. To motivate the students to love and enjoy learning English Language. To show them that learning English Language is fun.

Enfagrow A+ Programme: Series 2 2012

ENFAGROW A+ PROGRAMME
18th February 2012

My Enfagrow A+ Programme had a good response from my students. 67 students came for the programme compared to the first series of the programme, only 30 students. The first series was on 4th February 2012. There was no Enfagrow A+ programme on 11th February 2012 due to school replacement. For the first and second series, I have focused on Paper 1: Section A[Graphic Stimulus]. It is more on the techniques in answering and tackling Section A. I'm using the 'word-distinguishing' technique. Some would named it as 'key-word' technique or word clue technique.

Enfagrow A+ Programme

 SHARING TIME:
Thanks to a good friend of suggesting the name of the programme, which she was and is also using the name for her SPM students. As for me, I used it for my 2011 PMR students and will continue to carry out the programme in 2012. It is sort of an extra class cum English tutorial class that focuses on the skills learnt. Besides the tutorial mode, there will be an English Workshop that motivates the students and also exposing students to the techniques in answering the questions. Surprisingly, my PMR students loved the name of the programme even though they found the name rather weird. Moreover, the name of the programme stayed in their little mind.
The objectives and aims of the programme are to produce quality and also quantity in term of exam performance for good students and also average students. The implementation of the programme will be updated later...Don't worry, I'll share with you the programme if you are interested.
